The quality assessment of bioethanol includes a range of parameters which to some part are determined by complex and expensive procedures. The following table gives an overview over stipulated parameters, corresponding standards, and measurement principles as well as given specification limits.
At the re-accreditation audit in August 2009 ZFT was granted permission to add two more methods to the existing scope of accredited methods for examination of quality parameters relevant for bioethanol. These two methods incorporate the parameters Cu with a detection limit of 0.1 mg/kg and the determination of esters as ethylethanoate, respectively (for the whole range of parameters, see table).
In the meantime, a multiplicity of ethanol samples, not only bioethanol from Pischelsdorf, has been analyzed at ZFT. Of course, ZFT is still offering the analytics of ethanol samples to other costumers.
