The Departments of Starch Technology Food & Non-Food focus on the development of special starches by physical and chemical derivatization for applications in various technical fields (paper, corrugated board, textiles, construction, ceramics, pharmaceuticals etc.) and food.
Special focus of the department’s activities is given to execution of practical investigations for numerous fields of applications.
Our extensively equipped pilot plant stations allow investigations of important technologies like extrusion, separation, evaporation, drying, starch extraction etc. on a pilot scale ranging from 1 kg to 2000 kg.
